The existing range of Capsi and Reversi hinges designed for the construction of shower cubicle faces in 8 mm coated glass: assembly with adequate stiffness; possible use of special types of glass, for example lifetime antiscale treated; optimised cost. The hinges in this special range represent an optimum blend of the characteristics of the existing hinges and are suitable for shower cubicle doors not generally weighing more than 35 kg. Steel plunger and cam for sharper self-closing; stainless steel bearing washers suitable for doors weighing well below 50 kg; metal shims suitable for 8 mm glass. 2 models: Capsi and Reversi. 3 finishes as standard: chromed, brushed stainless steel finish, gilded. 2 possible mountings: on wall shim section 25x25-33 mm, to compensate for inability to take the dimensions to the millimetre (before tiling for example); or at the back of a Capsi clip to form a 180° glass/glass hinge; or on wall, on flat wall section or combined with a counterplate to form a 90° glass/glass hinge. A self-closing hinge with a proven mechanism (the Isodouche® one), small in size (82 mm x 54.5) but robust in construction, it is intended for doors of 8 and 10 mm thickness (up to 31 kg). For larger size, increase the number of hinges per door (typically 3 hinges per door), consulting the professional rules, or choose different Adler models (Isodouche, Super Venus, Super Saloon, Capsi). The TRIPLE ACTION closers comprise hinges and latches for glass doors and gates of innovative, patented design. They prevent any risk of malfunction (noise, vibration, premature aging) without adjustment. The latches designed for swimming pool glass safety barriers are magnetic: the bolt emerges opposite the strike plate and cannot impede the gate when it closes. The hinges have a dual self-closing system: mechanical by magnetic torsion spring for maximum holding torque at the end of return; and a system of stainless steel dampers to brake the door hydraulically at the end of closing, preventing the fingers being trapped and destructive shock and vibration to the hinge and latch fixings. In any situation, the automatic closing is faultless and cushioned for any door opening from 0° to 90°. Double-action stainless steel hinges with cushioned self-closing: they are an effective replacement for door closers and floor or lintel pivots. Sold in pairs: the top hinge is the self-closer and the bottom one limits and controls the closing speed. Regulation of the speed is very easy and reliable. For wall-glass installation, the door can weigh up to 65 kg and measure up to 2m40; for 180 degree glass-glass installation, the door weight is limited to 45 kg. The hinge operation is double action: opening with automatic return over +/- 85° around the closed position; holding in open position of 85 to 90°. These hinges are made of stainless steel and are very resistant to corrosive environments: outdoor, swimming pool etc., and have the advantage of a durable self-closing mechanism. |

With Adlock, Adler has developed an innovative patented solution which even enable uncoated laminated glass panels to be spot fixed and surface mounted on a stainless steel tube (tube hinge or connector) to form a totally reliable, purely mechanical system. With the tube hinges and clips for laminated glass 55.2, this principle is designed for clipping onto the edge of glass panels: This tightening method is very efficient and can be used directly metal on glass for a supremely elegant design and greater ease of installation. For thinner lamination (44.2), it is possible to install the system using sheets of cork laid in the gap of the clip at full height, the overhang being trimmed with the cutter flush with the clip after tightening. Naturally, these clips, lift-off hinges and tube hinges are suitable for coated glass panels (55.2 or 10 mm monolithic). The double-action lift-off and tube hinges are anti-finger-trap. It is possible to make up as much as 15 mm in the width of a door by controlling the area of glass in the clip. Butt and tube hinges are adjustable to the height of the door. |

The large model Capsi clips reproduce the design of the Reversi hinges (smooth outer face, visible screws on the inside) and their dimensions. Used for wall fixing of the fixed shower cubicle panels and also as a clip for a 180° glass-glass hinge, they provide perfect homogeneity of construction for a shower enclosure to give an extremely clean and minimalist overall design. With the same concept as the plates and counterplate of a Capsi hinge and also in aluminium bronze, they offer the same tightening efficiency for panels up to 100 kg. The notches in the glass panels are the same as in the Capsi hinges, which simplifies the overall concept and makes some panels symmetrical if required (an advantage in the case of single face anti-scale treatments etc.). They are available as standard versions in chromed, brushed nickel (brushed stainless steel finish) and gilded. For 8 mm glass as standard. | 30. Adslide: miniaturized claws for 8 mm thickness |
In many situations of installation of shower panels or office partitions, the only function of the clips is to prevent the glass moving perpendicular to its plane. They do not then need to be clips: a “claw” which simply blocks these free movements of the glass is enough. Adler has pushed its pursuit of miniaturisation to the limit and offers the Adslide clip: it is aluminium, chromed or brushed stainless steel anodized, and does not even contain cork or plastic shims; it is reduced to a small 20x20 square. A straight face with very clean lines for the outside; chamfered edges on the inside to prevent the risk of being scratched if case of contact inside a shower cubicle. The claw of the clip is doubly chamfered to allow panels to be installed on edge without a notch, to ensure continuous pressure of the seal on the tray and absolute watertightness. This model can have an integral cam to simplify assembly of a panel - and is then notched - and pressurization of its waterproofing seals in some situations of Walk-in systems or enclosures with sliding doors. |

The small model Capsi clips have the Capsi screw cover. Small (40x40 mm) and square, they fade to the maximum extent into the background of a Capsi shower enclosure. They tighten very efficiently despite the miniaturisation and enable panels to be fixed to threshold strip if there is a risk of these strips flipping over under the action of a door flag fixed to the vertical of the clip, or due to transmission of these forces by a stiffener. Supplied as standard with cork shims for glass of 6, 8 or 10 (12 mm possible on request), they can be fitted as an optional extra with very hard transparent plastic shims and a plain screw cover (without the Adler logo). The Adslide stiffeners are made of stainless steel tubing, diameter 21x25 (thickness 2). They are very strong and are designed to stiffen between fixed panels or between panel and wall, square or parallel. They can also be used as rails for Adslide suspended roller tracks and Adlock façade stiffeners (typically less than 2m50 in length): any combination of these functions is also possible. These stiffeners are fixed to the glass by washers dia.25 with screw covers. The construction of the stiffeners offers exceptional tearing strength; they are fully modular and can be adapted to any type of end fitting (adjustable caps, washers etc.) or screw-in points perpendicular to the axis of the stiffener at any point on its length. For easy, reliable fixing on any type of shower enclosure wall or wall covering, with very low play and without joints or framing sections, Adler has developed a range of aluminium sections, chromed or anodized with a brushed stainless steel finish, each integrating multiple functions: anchorage and retention of sealing mastic on a wide variety of substrates; screw points for the fixings (clips) or hinging parts (hinges); grooves for durable fixing of any deflector, sealing/braking, waterproofing or anti-finger trap sections. These sections are for shimming, then bonding and finally screw fixing after back-drilling the wall and are a simple and effective method for correcting wall flatness and verticality defects. They also mean that clips can be fixed to the tray without drilling it. And the sections, called make-up models, can also compensate for +/-4 mm of play or defect and make some shower cubicle models reversible: ideal for the distribution and factory assembled sectors. | 55. Aluminium edge section: protection and seal |
|
Adler develops innovative systems for clip-on and sport fixing of uncoated laminated glass. To protect the fragile edges and form an initial barrier to moisture diffusion in the PVB insert, for example, Adler has designed a very fine adhesive aluminium section for bonding around 55.2 glass. This very fine section contains a groove in which to fit a specially developed seal profile which is used for indexing in the closed position and total waterproofing of a door on an Adlock pivot or Adler VF hinge. This section is also ideal for forming a seal on the free edge of a Clip-In Door without damaging the exceptional transparency of that product. |

The wall flats 38 mm wide used to fix Capsi hinges to walls which are not flat or vertical can be usefully installed as threshold strips or plinths to start and support the construction of self-supporting structures. With these sections, a frame is made on the floor which is perfectly to size and level and absolutely horizontal and into which the various connectors supporting the partition can be screw fixed directly; the sections are therefore supplied finished but without machining; this can consist simply of milled holes to be drilled at the time of assembly to match the actual dimensions of the installation. |

The Epsila range of Capsi, Clip-In Door, Adler VF, Adslide and Adlock shower enclosures embodies the Adler research to achieve transparent solutions without seals or frames but watertight in use. The few linings that remain essential, between fixed panels and walls for example, can be obtained simply by pre-bonding silicone profiles on the matching edges of the fixed panels. The finish quality of the installation is impeccable; the installation time is significantly reduced. At the base of the door, Adler recommends bonding of deflector profiles which force the water back inside of the shower cubicle: never use seals, which obstruct the free movement of the door and its very precise closure. |

| 60. Range of PVC clip-on seals and waterproofing profiles |
|
A complete range of seals and waterproofing profiles fixed with a PVC clip. Some profiles are deflectors, some have a lip or bead acting as a seal and others integrate both functions in the same profile All are at least half hard: the clip is rigid when the lips have to remain flexible. Sometimes the clip contains internal stops and small, flexible PVC lips for adaptation to various glass thicknesses and good adhesion to the edge of the panel. The materials are constantly developing and the majority of Adler seals offer maximum resistance to UV radiation, for example, and to yellowing. Where appropriate, the lips of the seals are grained to limit the risk that they might stick together during prolonged closure; and the risk of premature damage to the seals – by tearing or pull-of. In the latest version of the magnetic seals, they are reversible (called multipolar), preventing any risk of confusion between North and South seals. These advantages of versatility and mechanical, UV and sticking resistance again slightly limit the transparency of the seal: it remains translucent. |
