10 basic models:

Model 1: alcove door
Using 55.2 laminated glass (tempered or non-tempered) or 10 mm tempered glass, this is a simply designed, fully watertight, easy-to-install door solution for any alcove, even where the walls are not completely flat or vertical. The wall sections compensate efficiently for all imperfections of this kind. The full-height wall hinge means that the width of the door can be adjusted by +/-7 mm. Can also be installed using 44.2 laminated glass or 8 mm monolithic toughened glass.

Model 2: alcove door with narrow fixed in-line glass panel
Using 55.2 tempered or non-tempered laminated glass, or 10 mm tempered glass, to-install door solution for any alcove with walls that are not completely flat or vertical, as the wall sections compensate efficiently for any imperfections of this kind. The narrow fixed panel (less than 30 cm wide) both helps to restrict door travel and provides additional compensation for any errors made when taking measurements, as the full-height wall hinge allows the width of the door to be adjusted by +/-7 mm.

Model 3: alcove door with wide fixed in-line glass panel
For 55.2 tempered or non-tempered laminated glass, or 10 mm tempered glass, an easy-to-fit alcove installation with a clean, sleek design and wall sections that help to correct out-of-plumb and uneven wall surfaces. The glass panel is over 30 cm wide and is reinforced in the top corner with a square support bar that provides a coordinating finish for the in-line panel. Adjusting to the width of the alcove: +/-7 mm on the door side and the same on the fixed side.
Model 4: simple corner installation with wall-hung door
For 55.2 tempered or non-tempered laminated glass, or 10 mm tempered glass,, an easy-to-fit, watertight corner installation with a clean, sleek design and wall sections that help to correct out-of-plumb and uneven wall surfaces. The width of the fixed return can be adjusted by +/-14 mm. The panel is held in place by the support bar which adds the finishing touch to the clean, sleek lines of the in-line panel. All the edges of the glass panels are protected. The width of the in-line panel can be adjusted by +/-7 mm at the hinge and can be increased still further by adding a spacer to the back of the flat wall section.
Model 5: corner installation with hinged door mounted on the return panel
For 55.2 tempered or non-tempered laminated glass, or 10 mm tempered glass,, an easy-to-fit, watertight corner installation with a clean, sleek design and wall sections that help to correct out-of-plumb and uneven wall surfaces. The width of the fixed return can be adjusted by +/-14 mm. This panel is held in place by the support bar which adds the finishing touch to the square lines of the in-line panel. The width of the in-line panel can be adjusted by +/-7 mm at the hinge and can be increased still further by adding a spacer to the back of the flat wall section, which can be fitted last.
Model 6: corner installation where the free edge of the door is short of the wall
For 55.2 tempered or non-tempered laminated glass, or 10 mm tempered glass, where the width of the door needs to be restricted, this is an easy-to-fit, watertight corner installation with a clean, sleek design and wall sections that help to correct out-of-plumb and uneven wall surfaces. The width of the fixed return and the in-line panel can be adjusted by +/-14 mm. Components for installation:
Adler VF full-height hinge
The Adler VF hinge has a wealth of distinctive features:
L- It provides a safe hinge mechanism for a non-tempered laminated glass door.
- Installation is very simple using a wall section and two metal screws.
- It provides a simple means to adjust the width of the door by +/-10 mm, at any time.
- It is a double-action hinge with finger pinch protection, opening through +/- 90°.
- With an understated, distinctive design, it discreetly enhances the front of the shower screen without affecting overall transparency and maintaining the appearance of a frameless glass structure.

Flat wall section with seal
The flat wall section plays a number of roles.
For affixing the hinge to the wall, it can:
- compensate for out-of-plumb and uneven wall surfaces
- ensure that the installation is watertight, with the addition of sealant in gaps in the tile joints, etc.
- secure the door mounting by screwing the hinge to the section, metal to metal, with the remainder of the section being glued/screwed to the wall.
If the door is affixed with a hinge to a glass return panel, the seal can, if required, be stuck to the flat section that can be inserted between the U section covering the free edge of the glass return panel and the hinge. This ensures a fully watertight arrangement and stops the door from swinging back and forth.
U section with rebate seal for wall mounting or free edge of fixed return panel
The rigid U section can be used to:
- secure a fixed 10 mm screen, in 55.2 non-toughened glass, for example, to a wall;
- adjust the position of the glass panel by +/-8 mm;
- hold the section in place against the glass or the glass in place in the section using the special, highly effective rebate seal. In some cases, additional bonding using sealant, MS polymer adhesive or silicone can help secure the installation;
- support a door hinge, with or without a flat section in the middle – its presence is useful only where the installation is required to be fully watertight and insulated, including around the hinge;
- provide protection for the free edge of a screen made from non-tempered laminated glass;
provide a flat, smooth supporting surface for a watertight seal on the edge of the door.
L section with rebate seal for creating a corner joint between two fixed glass panels
The rigid L section can be used to:
- securely attach two fixed 10 mm glass panels (in non-tempered 55.2 glass, for example) to each other create a corner,
with a tolerance of a few degrees in the angle of the corner;
- adjust the position of the glass panel by +/- 2-3 mm;
- hold the section in place against the glass or the glass in place in the section using the special, highly effective rebate seal. In some cases, additional bonding using sealant, MS polymer adhesive or silicone can help secure the installation;
- create a wide range of installations using non-tempered laminated glass, from a five-sided cubicle to a corner enclosure, which may be self-supporting.
It has a simple, sleek, clean design using just metal and glass, and the unobtrusive rebate seal is mounted on the inside.
Threshold strip
The threshold strip is an important component in installing an Adler VF shower cubicle:
- It centres vertical U and L sections and holds them in place.
- It ensures that the base of the shower cubicle is watertight – especially with a tiled shower tray – creating a smooth floor surface and evening out the dips in the tile joints.
- Secure bonding using the groove in the underside of the strip ensures durability.
- It allows for simple, reliable fitting of any clips, which are required for any installation that includes a fixed in-line glass panel. There is no requirement to drill into the shower tray.
- Adler standard watertight sections offer:
- a speedy, watertight build – the rigid PVC section runs right down to the level of the base of the clip, creating a continuous seal along a very smooth supporting surface and running the full length of the bottom edge of the fixed glass panels;
- even load distribution right along the length of the fixed glass panel's supporting edge, thereby preventing any risk of the glass cracking or delaminating as a result of a local concentration of stress at its edge.
Shown opposite is the standard combination of the threshold strip bonded to the shower tray, the rigid PVC section that forms a bed, level with the base of any clip that may be present (for a fixed in-line glass panel), and the PVC seal which ensures that the enclosure is watertight and protects the edge of the fixed glass panel by distributing the load.

Shown below is the threshold strip on its own, bonded to the shower tray to run underneath a door, for example.
Capsi support bar with adjusters for L or U inset profiles
ADLER VF cubicles are designed to be built entirely using non-toughened laminated glass. The only machining operations are reserved for any knobs, handles or flush ring pull handles (see "Miscellaneous components" below).
When a support bar is needed to ensure that the screen is stable, it is affixed between inset edge profiles rather than directly to the glass panels. The Capsi 20 x 20 mm square support bar is cut to the desired length and each end is fitted with the appropriate attachment: the standard insert for affixing the support bar to the wall if the starting point is the side of a U section, and a special Adler VF insert if the starting point is along the length of a U section or in an L corner section.
10 x 2 mm edge section with self-adhesive seal
To protect delicate edges, and to provide an initial barrier against moisture ingress into the PVB interlayer, for example, Adler has designed a slimline adhesive aluminium section for edging 55.2 glass panels. This slimline section includes a groove that can accommodate a specially developed seal section used to index an Adlock pivot door or Adler VF hinge in the closed position and make it watertight.
The section is delivered in 2.20 m lengths, with a bonded seal and pre-coated with adhesive on the back, ready for edging the glass panel.
Some of our component accessories:

Door bottom water deflector section 79043S
Transparent polycarbonate section, self-adhesive along one side and one face. Acrylic adhesive.
Offering full and durable transparency, this section is glued to the base of the door and forces all the water that runs down the door back into the shower tray. Under normal conditions of use, it does not come into contact with the floor or the threshold strip but is fully waterproof.

More seals from the ADLER range:
8 x 8 mm solid section in transparent PMMA, bonded using UV adhesive or transparent acrylic biocomposite: it performs the same function as the deflector above, and is recommended for hotels, etc., where these components may be subject to heavy use.

G-shaped handle
This handle is inserted into a semi-circular cut-out in the free edge of the door. Once bonded, it provides effective protection for the machined edge and substantially limits the requirement for lapping after drilling or milling.

It offers an attractive, unobtrusive and practical alternative to door knobs and handles.
An essential component for any mechanical mounting point going through non-tempered laminated glass.
An Adler SAS patent for a unique fastening concept for non-toughened glass. The tighter the washers are fastened on either side of the glass, the more resistant the area around the hole, normally a point of increased weakness, becomes.
