Description
The
very best in seals, to be applied to the edge of a sheet of
glass with a thickness of 6 mm or more! But also for any wooden
or metal door/window frame.
In
order to maintain all its flexibility and resilience properties
over time, the silicone tube is protected by a mineral that
makes it slightly opaque; however, this does not affect the
final appearance in a transparent glass installation because
the seal is extremely small and is bonded onto the edge of
the glass, which is darker anyway due to the multiple internal
reflections ...
An
exclusive silicone extrusion process with continuous bonding
of a double-sided adhesive film has been developed in order
to produce this seal.
The silicone material of both the tubular extrusion and the
adhesive film has the best fungicide and bactericide properties
available. It retains its flexibility in time and has perfect
resistance to light (UV, etc.), for atmospheres such as showers,
Turkish baths, etc., and it even withstands ozone and radioactivity!
The temperature resistance, which has been proof-tested from
- 40 °C to +130 °C, means that it can be used in any
type of washroom.
The
adhesive film has a high shear resistance. But even after
many years, it can still be pulled off the glass without leaving
any marks, and then repositioned.
The 5 mm width of the adhesive enables this tubular seal to
be bonded onto any base material that is more than 6 mm thick
(taking the rounded edges into account).
The
extrusion is supplied in 25 mm rolled coils, with the adhesive
flat down and facing outwards, to be cut off by the user in
lengths that are adapted to each application. The carriage
and packing conditions for this product are therefore extraordinarily
favourable.
This
sealing extrusion is very easy to apply. There are just a
few simple rules that need to be observed. Before bonding
the seal, the surface of the glass (wood or metal) must be
thoroughly degreased, using isopropyl alcohol (P/N 350 31C)
for example. The extrusion can then be applied to the surface;
it must then be carefully pressed and smoothed, without ever
being stretched. When handling the seal, avoid folding it
or twisting it excessively, etc., in order to preserve the
integrity of the seal between the adhesive film and the tubular
extrusion.
ADLER S.A. can supply a tool for applying the sealing bead
perfectly straight, and for pressing and smoothing it, all
in a single pass.
This
seal is cost-effective, very easy to apply, and is a very
attractive alternative for sealing display windows, partition
walls, etc.
